How to measure your door.

1. Measure the Opening Width.

Measure opening from the inside the left jamb to inside the right jamb. If the opening width varies between top and bottom of the door opening, then provide the largest (widest) opening dimension.

2. Measure the Opening Height.

Measure from the floor to the header. If the opening height varies from the left side vs. the right side of the door, then provide the tallest dimension.

3,4. Measure the Side Room.

Measure the sideroom available beyond each side of the "door opening width" in Step 1.

5. Measure the Head Room.

Measure from the floor to the ceiling. If there is an obstruction, such as a beam below the ceiling, then measure from the floor to the obstruction.

If the headroom dimension varies from left to the right side, then provide the smaller dimension. Be sure that the headroom dimension is consistant throughout the cycle of the garage door starting from the mounting service of the door jamb. Once you have the floor to ceiling dimension, subtract the door opening height listed in step 2 to yeild the "headroom."

6. Measure the Back Room.

How far from the opening does the Headroom Dimension listed in Step 5 remain the same or greater. The Dimension must be larger than measurement #2, plus 30".
